Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Baryta is a pure cotton paper with an inkjet coating that has been perfectly optimised for the needs of FineArt applications. The natural white paper comes in a pleasant, warm shade of white and contains no optical brighteners. The exquisite surface texture gives the paper a lovely, delicate feel while at the same time lending it an artistic note. In combination with the high-gloss premium inkjet coating, it produces stunning print results with outstanding reproduction of colour and detail, deep blacks and perfect contrasts. The barium sulphate in the coating makes Photo Rag® Baryta a popular alternative to analogue baryta paper. The combination of the cotton artist paper and the high-gloss inkjet coating lends FineArt prints a striking character with a beautiful, elegant sheen, without glare. Photo Rag® Baryta is acid- and lignin-free and meets the most exacting requirements in terms of age resistance.

This resin-coated (RC) paper is classified as glossy, more precisely a lustre paper. It has a relatively rigid base and, combined with the satin print surface, can reproduce even large amounts of ink very well, making it suitable for photographs where good detail in the shadows is required. Compared to Hahnemühle premium papers, it is closest to Baryta. It is suitable for landscape reproductions, portrait photography, and still life photography. It is very scratch-resistant. It is a good alternative to premium papers at economic output cost if the output is not intended for collections.

Pro Photo Pastell Matt paper

A deep matte paper, very popular mainly for art production. The resulting impression of the reproduction is softer thanks to the natural white – pastel white point. It is suitable for all types of photography, but especially for natural motifs and black and white photography, if it is to have an original impression. The paper has no reflections and is suitable for all lighting conditions. Deep blacks are less pronounced in its presentation compared to glossy or semi-gloss papers, similar to Bright White paper.

Bright White Matt paper is a matte paper without any reflections. It is suitable for all lighting conditions, it does not mind spot lighting or backlighting. Its white point is bright white and has a cool impression. The color of the white point determines the resulting impression of the photograph, especially if it is composed of lighter tones and the paper shines through. Matte Pro Photo papers have weaker detail rendering and black is not as deep compared to glossy or semi-gloss papers. Nevertheless, it is suitable for the presentation of all types of photography – portrait, product, and landscape.

Pro Graphics Aquarell is a premium archival paper designed for pigment giclée printing, created for artists seeking gallery-quality output without compromise. Made from high-quality α-cellulose, it is acid-free and contains no optical brighteners (OBAs), guaranteeing excellent color stability and long-term print longevity. Pigment inks bond naturally and evenly with its surface, ensuring superb tonal depth, smooth transitions, and precise detail reproduction. The paper features a deeply matte, highly textured surface reminiscent of traditional handmade paper. This texture adds physical weight and visual authenticity to the image—it is not a "glossy photograph," but an artistic artifact.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends most on the author's preference and the desired expression. You can achieve deeper blacks better on lustre or satin surfaces, while a sense of depth without reflections is better on matte types, but you lose some detail in the shadows. Generally, darker motifs are better suited for lustre or satin, while lighter ones for matte paper.

Matte paper doesn't reflect light and is ideal for galleries with lighting. Lustre paper has a subtle sheen that enhances colors and contrast. Baryta offers a compromise between both.

Store prints in archival sleeves, away from direct sunlight, at constant temperature and low humidity. Don't roll prints long-term — store them flat or in special portfolio folders.

Printing on your own paper is not possible. The papers we print on are carefully stored and measured to ensure a flawless printing process.
